Cervical cancer is an abnormality of cells that occur in the cervix. It is mostly caused by infection with the Human Papillomavirus (HPV), which can be transmitted through sexual intercourse or contact (in the case of foreign objects with HPV entering the vagina). When infected in the early stages, symptoms may not appear yet. But symptoms will start to appear when the cancer cells have spread, such as abnormal vaginal bleeding, bleeding during intercourse, vaginal discharge mixed with blood or pus, abnormal vaginal odor, and other symptoms.
