Program Gastroscopy EGD

EGD is a treatment using a small, bendable tube camera with a diameter of about 1 cm. At the end of the camera, there is a magnifying lens. The other end is connected to a light generator and sends images to the screen into the mouth through the esophagus into the stomach and upper intestine.

Suitable for those with symptoms of

  • Abdominal tightness
  • Chronic stomach pain / heartburn

Steps of gastric endoscopy (EGD)

  • The staff sprays local anesthetic spray into the patient's mouth while the patient is sitting.
  • Position the patient to lie on their left side.
  • Give the patient a bite-proof device to bite the endoscope gently.
  • The doctor will insert the endoscope into the mouth and have the patient help swallow, which will make it easier to insert the camera.
  • During the examination, saliva may flow out. The nurse will suck the saliva from time to time. Do not swallow saliva while the camera is in the throat. Because it will cause choking
  • Breathe slowly, take deep breaths in and out through the nose, do not tense up.
