Program Gastroscopy EGD
EGD is a treatment using a small, bendable tube camera with a diameter of about 1 cm. At the end of the camera, there is a magnifying lens. The other end is connected to a light generator and sends images to the screen into the mouth through the esophagus into the stomach and upper intestine.

Steps of gastric endoscopy (EGD)

Steps in Colonoscopy
- The person being examined lies on their left side, bottom close to the edge of the bed, knees bent to the chest

- During the examination, you may feel the urge to defecate or feel tight and abdominal discomfort because the doctor blows air to expand the intestines to see the internal pathology. These symptoms can be relieved by doing the following: - Breathe slowly, inhale and exhale - Relax, do not tense up - If the tightness and abdominal discomfort are unbearable, notify the doctor. - Behavior after the examination

Preparation before a colonoscopy
- People with chronic diseases, drug allergies and regular medication should inform the doctor.
- Stop taking aspirin and antiplatelet drugs for 1 week. Stop taking anticoagulants for at least 3 days before the examination. Stop taking diabetes medication on the day of the colonoscopy or as prescribed by the doctor.
- 2 days before the examination, eat soft, easily digestible food. Avoid vegetables, fruits and foods high in fiber.
- 1 day before the examination, eat soft food with low fiber for breakfast. Avoid vegetables, fruits and meats that are difficult to digest. After breakfast, eat only clear liquids, such as clear soup, rice water, sweet water, vegetable and fruit juices that have been separated from the pulp.
- On the day of the colonoscopy, take laxatives according to the amount and time prescribed by the doctor.
- Do not eat or drink water for 6 hours before the examination.
- A relative should accompany you (in some cases, the doctor may give intravenous sedation. You will be unconscious during the examination).
